“Design is really an act of communication, which means having a deep understanding of the person with whom the designer is communicating.”

Applying UX to Disease Management [New]

Currently, diabetes is diagnosed using single-time or average measurement of blood glucose (HbA1c).  A study* was shown that individuals without diabetes can have frequent elevations in blood glucose levels that reach diabetic ranges, but these spikes are undetectable when standard diagnostic tests (fasting or Hba1c) are performed.

After meal blood glucose values vary by person even when the same meal is consumed in the exact same amounts because everyone has a unique response to food.

Knowing an individual’s glucose response patterns to food can help people understand which foods to avoid and which foods is OK to eat in order to keep your blood glucose stabilized.

This application will provide those with pre-diabetes (diagnosed and undiagnosed) a lifestyle management path to prevent, delay or even reverse the progression to Type 2 diabetes.
